HISTORY:

• Pro Security Products dba Jon’s Lock & Key Inc. started as a part time business in 1972 by Jon Vawdrey.
• Jon Vawdrey and his son Dave Vawdrey opened a locksmith store in 1987.
• In 1993, Jon’s Lock & Key incorporated and later changed the name to Pro Security Products dba Jon’s Lock & Key Inc. to reflect the direction and focus of the company to high security and electronic locking systems.
• Greg Taylor joined Jon’s Lock & Key in 1994.
• In 2001, Jon Vawdrey retired and sold his portion of the company to Dave and Greg and was called to serve as the Temple President of the Taiwan Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
• In May 2004, Pro Security Products dba Jon’s Lock & Key Inc. moved to its present location.
• In April 2005, Pro Security Products dba Jon’s Lock & Key Inc. was chosen to be a Medeco Security Center.  At the time of the pilot program, there were only 9 security stores chosen to be Medeco Security Centers. 

OUR QUALIFICATIONS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• We have 20+ years of locking hardware experience.
• We are factory trained, and provide additional training for technicians.
• We use and understand computer generated master key systems and are able to customize systems to the end user’s needs without uncontrolled interchanges.
• Greg Taylor is certified by the State of Utah as a qualifying agent for burglar alarm systems, and our technicians are licensed as burglar alarm company agents.
• We are familiar with Fire and Life Safety Codes and are able to recommend and install the appropriate hardware to be in compliance with the codes.
• We understand how to incorporate mechanical and electronic hardware to maximize security.
• We have beta-tested several electronic access products, and have had input on the development of these systems.
• We are a Medeco Security Center, and have patent protected keys and locks that provide key control. (Medeco keys cannot be duplicated by unauthorized people.)  Medeco locks also prevent picking, drilling, and other means of defeating a lock.
• We are the Salto Systems dealer in Utah.  Salto Systems is the largest growing electronic lock manufacturer in the world.
