Maxum Medeco Deadbolt options:

Single Cylinder Deadbolt:
You get Medeco protection on the outside, with an easy-to-turn thumbturn inside.

Double Cylinder Deadbolt:
Best used for doors with windows and for businesses where no one could get locked inside. The key must be used when entering, or for locking when exiting, which provides highest level of security.

Removable Thumbturn (key-captive) Deadbolt:
The Special removable thumbturn key combines the advantages of single and double cylinder deadbolts. It allows easy exit in emergencies, but can be removed for additional burglary protection when away.

In 1995 Medeco introduced the widely known interchangeable core KeyMark. Keymark cylinder gives you the application of absolute key control. With the cylinder and the key protected by a utility patent (U.S. Patent #5,176,015), it is an affordable option that adds flexibility in meeting one's needs.

Medeco's KeyMark also provides the convenience of quick core removal, easy of retrofitting Best style cores and is availiable in a full line of single shear line retrofit cylinders for conventional, non-interchangeable core locks.

It is important to make note that KeyMark unlike the Medeco is not a "high security" lock as defined by medeco standards. Because while it does incorporate features to enhance its pick resistance, KeyMark contains no special features for drill resistance. Nor does it use twisting pins, angled key cuts or a side bar mechanism that together is virtually pickproof. For applications requiring the highest levels of security, Medeco should continue to be the product of choice.
